Interests
I'm interested above all in improving the coverage, quality, and accuracy of Wikipedia articles on Latin America, Latin American studies, and Latin American culture. On the whole, these areas are in a pretty sorry and confused state. Though some articles on individual writers, for instance, are pretty good, the survey and overview articles that are generally a disgrace. I'd be delighted if anyone else would also be interested in a more or less systematic clean-up and improvement.
I also have interests in Critical theory, though the quality and coverage in this area tends to be far better. (An exception is the duplication and problems with Hegemony and Cultural hegemony.)

- Proposed clean-up of the various lists of Latin American writers (see Talk:Latin America)
- Various Categories for discussion
To do
- Improve Latin American literature, probably with reference also to the various pages on national literatures
- Then work backwards, providing summary information at Latin American culture and Latin America
- Improve the articles on Latin American Boom and magic realism
- Create or expand and improve articles on individual movements or terms, e.g. Indigenismo or Costumbrismo
- Ditto with Latin American cinema
- Ditto with Latin American art
- Create Latin American architecture?
- Improve Latin American culture
- Capsule summaries required for pages such as Culture by region and Arts by region
- Expand Latin American studies
- Create stubs for needed Latin Americanists and expanding existing stubs
- Create or expand related articles such as Latin American subaltern studies
- Clean-up of the various Latin American-related lists
- General category clean-up
- Seek some clarity regarding the various categories covering Latin and South America, including Central America and Middle America and the "in Spanish" categories
- Change South American writer stubs to Latin American writer stubs and generally start sorting through stubs and gauging priorities

All this will happen slowly. But again, I welcome suggestions and cooperation. I have some general ideas, but am open to alternatives. Feel free to drop me a link on my talk page. Anyone interested in some kind of task force or project should particularly get in touch.
