Automan was a television series of the 1980s. It only ran for 13 episodes. It was about a programmer, played by Desi Arnaz, Jr., who programmed a man (an automan, if you will) to jump out of his computer and into real life to solve crimes. There was also a mute sidekick named Cursor, which could generate a car, plane, or helicopter, all of which could defy the laws of physics. Automan and Cursor were only able to become corporeal at night, due to needing a large amount of power to run.

The series is comparable with the film Tron.
