Cardiff North is an electoral constituency represented in the National Assembly for Wales and the the UK Parliament's House of Commons. It comprises the electoral wards of Gabalfa, Heath, Lisvane, Llandaff North, Llanishen, Pontprennau/Old St Mellons, Rhiwbina, Whitchurch and Tongwynlais.

A Conservative stronghold prior to the 1997 general election, Cardiff North is currently represented by Julie Morgan MP and Sue Essex AM, both members of the Labour Party.
