Claudio Daniel Borghi Bidos, (born on 28 September 1964 in Castelar, Buenos Aires Province), is an Argentine ex-soccer player and former head coach of Colo-Colo. He started his career as an offensive midfielder for Argentinos Juniors in the early 80s. He was considered a bright young star for Argentina, and great hopes were put in his shoulders when he was called up for Argentina National Football Team in Mexico 1986. Unfortunately, he did not shine in that tournament (which Argentina won) and was never again called for the selección. Afterwards, he played in Europe for several years, with uneven success. He returned to Argentina to play in 1988, and would later played for other latin american teams. It was only in Chile where he returned to show his early skills as a footballer, winning the Recopa and Supercopa for Colo-Colo in 1992. After retiring, he started a career as a coach also in Chile, which has been so far quite successful, in 2006 he won the both the Clausura and Apertura tournaments with Colo-Colo, and led the team to the final of the Copa Sudamericana. After retirement, he has become grossly overweight (more than a hundred kilos). In October 2006, he declared to the chilean press that on advice from doctors he would try a crash diet in order to avoid future health problems.
