Gudela Grote

German Psychologist and University Professor

Life

Gudela Grote was born in Wiesbaden. After high school she studied psychology at the Philipps University in Marburg and the Technical University in Berlin[1]. After graduating from the Technical University of Berlin, she was in the period 1984-1987 PhD student at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta . At Georgia Tech, she did her PhD on the situational specificity and consistency of achievement motivation.

In 1988 she came to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and became an Assistant Professor four years later. She habilitated at ETH Zurich in 1996 and became Associate Professor at ETH one year later. Since September 2000, she has been a full Professor for industrial and organizational psychology in the Department of Management, Technology and Economics.

Gudela Grote is on the board of the SKU Association of Swiss Management Courses and co-editor of the journal Safety Science and on the editorial board of other magazines[2].
