Hello... I'm a laissez-faire capitalist in theory. What does that mean, though? Well, it means that I believe that it is wrong for one to initiate force against an other. It's wrong to hold a fire arm to a man's head and force him to sell you a loaf of bread much cheaper than normal. It's wrong to hold a gun to some one's head and force him to do some thing he does not wish to do.
I believe that people have the right to conform in mass society, for people to behave like sheep or zombies. A distraught Marxist of the revolutionary or reformative variety may tell you that Capitalism is bad and makes people not think for themselves etc etc etc, but he does not realize that you can not hold a gun to some one's head and force them to be smart, or not to conform in consumer culture. One must find one's own way. If you want to be a sheep, indeed, if you want to be an intellect devourer who spreads lies to the gullible, then so be it! Just as long as you are not initiating unlawful force against some one, you are in the right to do so.
I believe in privatized public services. I believe one should pay no more than 5% tax and that it should be voluntary. Most people would be more than willing to shell out 5 per cent of their income to fund a police force which would protect them from having unlawful force initiated against them. But the emphasis is on small-government, not the bloated nanny state regime we have now in Britain. My step father pays more than 35% tax, and he pays for one of his children to go to a state school, even though she doesn’t go! Absolutely disgusting. Why should people who choose to pay for their children to go to private schools, also be forced to pay for a place in state school when their child does not need it?
I actively encourage people who smoke ciggies and eat trans-fatty-acid-laden-foods, to do so! If they’re so stupid as to do these things, then they deserve to be unhealthy!
Lastly, I’m sick of reactionary authoritarian individuals blaming problems in our culture on violent films and video games. One does not copy extreme violent acts from a video game unless one already has the demented personality that leads to such aggressive, philistine behaviours.
