One's on the Way is the eighteenth studio album by American country music singer-songwriter, Loretta Lynn. It was released on February 28, 1972, by Decca Records.
Commercial performance
The album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and also No. 109 on the Billboard 200. The album's only single, "One's on the Way", peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and spent two weeks there.
Recording
Recording sessions for the album took place on January 18, January 19, and January 20, 1972, at Bradley's Barn in Mount Juliet, TN. Two songs on the album were recorded during sessions for previous albums. The title track, "One's on the Way", was recorded on August 3, 1971, during the sessions for 1971's You're Lookin' at Country. "L-O-V-E, Love was recorded during the November 18, 1968 session for 1969's Your Squaw Is on the Warpath.[2]
