Gyan Educational Institution is a higher secondary school, affiliated to C.B.S.E.,Delhi, located in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established on 17 April 2002 and is one of the institution of Gyana Group Of Schools. The school is surrounded by a hill in its east, and the Lokhra Road in its west.

A Day In Gyan...

The morning, in Gyan Educational Institution starts with a morning assembly at 08:30 hours IST, hosted by any of the four houses (namely, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan House, Blue; M. K. Gandhi House, Yellow; Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose House, Red; and Lachit Borphukan House, Green), in a weekly-rotation manner, in which both teachers and students (from class 2 to class 12) take part and pray for everyones' good to the God by singing prayers and taking pledges. And during the assembly, the students of the respective host House recite the topic and thought of the day and read the current international, national, state, and sports news. Although the students from class nursery to class 1 have a separate morning assembly afterwards.

After the morning assembly, at 08:45 hours IST all the students come back to thier respected classes and have their regular classes either by their class teachers or by the subject teachers from the 1st period till the 7th period and in between the 4th period and the 5th period, every class teachers go to their respective classes again and the students get a recess time for 20 minutes at 11:30 hours IST for having their luncheons, which the students can bring from their home or can buy from the School canteen. On every 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month, both the teachers and students have their House Meetings in the 7th period, in which the students and the teachers of every Houses, meet in the pre-declared Houses' class rooms and discuss about their future plannings for the topics, thought and pledges for the upcoming week for hosting the morning assembly. In the House Meeting, the students also get the topics for the articles for the current month, related to recent world-wide affairs which the students have to make in their homes and again have to submit them to the respective House teachers or House incharges within a deadline for pasting those articles on the House soft-board each month. And on the basis of all these activities, the Houses get the points (although additional points are added on the basis of cleanliness, discipline, etc.), and after every couple of months, the best house is declared in terms of points, in the morning assembly by the Principal.

At 14:00 hours IST, the classes ends and the students and teachers leave the School either by the School's bus facility, or by their own means, or by the public transports, which are available most of the times.

Magazines

The school has its own yearly magazine, 'Arohan'. It was first published in 2016. With three language sections, namely English, Hindi and Assamese. It comprised many poems, short inspirational stories, paintings, jokes, articles on science and technology, Photos and pictures, etc., written, painted and edited by teachers, students, and administrative staffs.

Facilities

The school has bus facilities in almost every main routes within the city, first-aid facilities with a nurse during the working hours, message facilities for informing about various notices to the parents and guardians, smart class facilities for students from nursery to class 12.

The school also comprises a mini Saraswati temple, an open hall, a Library, a Computer laboratory, a Physics laboratory, a Geography laboratory, a Biology laboratory, a Chemistry laboratory, an activity room, a councillors' room, a sports room, a MIL room, a canteen and a playground.
