Alfa Romeo 140AF is an Italian trolleybus produced from 1949 to 1960.

History

This trolleybus make Alfa Romeo more popular like a manufacturer of transport vehicles especially trolleybuses. The 140AF was very popular in Italy in 50s. The design show the line of the company for trolleybuses. The trolleybus had around 20 version and it is very powerful and it make you think that you are in a big transport vehicle. The different versions of 140AF will make you to believe that are not models from a one series. The technical characteristics of the models are close but the design and the transport looking are different.

The bodies are from Breda, SIAI Marchetti-CGE, Macchi-Marelli,Caproni.

Technical characteristics

The electric vehicle use TIBB GLM 1303c, Marelli MCT 60B (MCT 64 B 56 per i filosnodati), CGE CV 1216 oppure CV 1227 A motors. It had version with 135,160,163 hp.

Transport

In Italy the trolleybuses from this model were used in Rome, Milan, Turin, Genoa, Bologna, Florence, Como, Bari, Ascona, Catania,Palermo and Salerno.
