Arnaldo Edi Lopes da Silva (born July 7, 1983 in Aveiro), also known as Edinho, is a Portuguese football player of Guinea-Bissauan descent, who plays as a right winger for AEK Athens F.C., in the Greek first division.

Club career

After making his professional debuts with Sporting Clube de Braga, and playing there without much impact, Edinho served two loans from 2005-07. In the second, he scored six goals for lowly Gil Vicente F.C., in the second division. In 2007-08, Edinho was released by Braga, joining Vitória de Setúbal.

In January 2008, Edinho was loaned by Setúbal to AEK Athens FC in Greece. Not an undisputed starter at Setúbal, he displayed tremendous football since arriving at AEK, managing to score in five straight games: against Skoda Xanthi F.C. at home (3-0), away at OFI Crete (1-4), at home with Aris FC (1-1) and at Apollon Kalamarias F.C. (0-1), topping it with another in the 4-0 smashing of arch-rivals Olympiacos F.C..[1]

On May 6, 2008, the move to AEK was made permanent, which AEK Athens FC paid 1.4 million and Edinho started 2008-09 in heroic fashion, scoring a stunning goal and winning a penalty kick against rivals Panathinaikos FC in a 2-1 home win, in the first derby of the year.[2]

International career

Edinho was part of the Portuguese squad at the 2004 Summer Olympics, playing four matches and scoring once]].
