The South Carolina Democratic Party is the South Carolina affiliate of the national Democratic Party. The chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party is Carol Khare Fowler.

As of April 2007, the state party officers are:

  • Chair: Carol Fowler
  • 1st Vice Chairman: Wilber Lee Jeffcoat
  • 2nd Vice Chairman: Charles Hamby
  • 3rd Vice Chairman: Joey Oppermann
  • Secretary: Elizabeth Potts
  • Treasurer: Brent Weaver

State Party Staff:

  • Interim Executive Director: Jay Parmley
  • Field Organizers: Lance Jones
  • Operations Manager: Shameka Grayson
  • Communcations Director: Patrick Norton
  • Finance Director: Ashley Medbery

South Carolina will host the first-in-the-South Democratic Presidential Primary on January 29, 2008.
