I'm workin hard on making sure this article shows no COI issues and is not advertising. Can you help me out a little bit here? I would be ok if it was tagged similar to headplay but this article definitely deserves to be kept. Can you give me some advice? 3dtech 16:04, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tristan Tondino

This article was not spam. I was working on Irrealism with other authors last summer - Deleting Tondino from that web of ideas is unfortunate. Joseane 03:21, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't claim it was spam. I put an SD template on the page because there was absolutely nothing on it. I requested a speedy deletion because it was an empty page. Smashville 03:22, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Finally, someone to talk to. I want to put something back.Joseane 03:26, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not an admin, but until you actually post an article with content in it, it will be repeatedly deleted as a blank page Smashville 03:27, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But I did post an article with content in it. I was in the process of adding citations and it was deleted. I don't understand why.Joseane 03:37, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
All the article you posted had in it was your user name. Smashville 03:41, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, something went wrong and then it all just vanished. Joseane 03:51, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Garrod Farms

Thx for your help. I think asking the place is better, I don't know much about it. You might want to email rides@garrodfarms.com and ask them to improve the page. I can't use my email at the moment, thx! Victoria uni 02:10, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a test not everything in an encyclopedia should have a history for example if you create and use a new toy, its a new toy there is no history but it is for real and you are using it therefore you can add some information about it to an encyclopedia. one week ago there were no earthquake in Peru but now there is one and we can talk and write about it in wikipidia. I was not joking or making up a story about what I said. I created and used the word BunBun and now 3 other people who liked the idea are using that. Maybe in the future it will become as popular as Honey or baby. I am the inventor and I want to talk about that. If someone ells has a different idea can add it or edit it but please don't delete it. BunBun is for real. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shahyad (talkcontribs)

The page has been deleted by admins 3 times. You've received warnings for it twice. This discussion is over. You've been warned by the admins about posting it. Smashville 22:35, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

en For the page Weston crawford, it should be speedy delete. See page for details. •Malinaccier• T/C 21:32, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gracias. Couldn't find the reason to do it...completely missed that one. - Smashville 21:36, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

David Weber redirect

Sorry, I just flubbed the redirect syntax. Fixed, and I removed the CSD nom. — Saxifrage 03:40, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's all good. I realized that and did a strikethrough on the notice. - Smashville 03:43, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! The speed of that cleanup was impressive enough that I can hardly object. — Saxifrage 08:32, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Corpse roads

Thanks for the +ve feedback. I came across one whilst on holiday in the English 'lake district' and it brought back memories of Dartmoor legends (Devon)and 'voila.' Rosser 11:18, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Toddhenry 04:09, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Hmmmmm, several members of the science press (Atlanta Journal Consitution, LA Times, Science magazine, National Public Radio) as well as students have asked for background info on yours truly (Todd Henry), so I figured I'd make their lives easier by putting something on Wikipedia.[reply]

I suggest you take a look at Wikipedia:Autobiography, Wikipedia:Spam and Wikipedia:Notability. If you are notable, someone else will create a page for you. Smashville 04:13, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, in my opinion COI and AUTPO are reasons for extreme caution, but not reasons to delete, let alone speedy delete. I don't think the guy is all that likely to be notable, but an assertion of notability is enough to avoid db-nn, and I interpret db11 narrowly to mean articles that cant be improved. I improved it a little. What I did that was wrong was not tagging it for "notability", or looking for references further But I remind you that according to WP:CSD anyone except the author can remove speedy templates, admin or not, and so you should not use do not remove speedy templates in the edit summary unless it actually is the author. The correct course after i had removed it was not for you to put it back, but to take it to afd if you were sure it wasnt notable. according to WP:Deletion policy that's the way to go, not replacing it in the hope you will find another admin who agrees with you, though it seems you did--and it is certainly not an article i am going to fight for.DGG (talk) 05:43, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So the fact that he flatly admitted his lack of notability (no one is able to find any info on him) on my user talk page means nothing? Smashville 05:49, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CSD G1 is not applicable to content not in english.

Hello. You recently placed a speedy tag on 小武. I'd just like to notify you that CSD G1 doesn't apply to content not written in English. Instead it should be tagged with {{notenglish}}. henriktalk 07:42, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was unaware that question marks were not considered English. Smashville 07:45, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. That is most likely a problem with your web browser not being able to display unicode properly. The text seems to be written in Chinese. henriktalk 07:48, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay...yeah, pure question marks on my end...good ol' Firefox Smashville 07:50, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Issuing of warnings

Hi, Just a pointer whilst on vandal patrol, it is customary when issuing a warning on a new page to not start with a lvl4 warning, which you did here. Once a good faith level warning (lvl 1)has been issued we can go up through the warning, with the realisation that they fully understand the rules on wikipedia. Using a level 4 warning might be unecessary and inflame a situation where they may have stopped after one warning. Also just if you can remember to sign your warnings ~~~~ (though I think you just forgot this once). Any further questions please don't hesitate to get in touch. Regards Khukri 09:06, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think I know which page you are talking about. I did it in the first day when I started doing this...before I really understood what constituted "obvious" vandalism. Smashville 16:29, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It was a report that you filed to AIV this morning, but no harm done. regards Khukri 21:07, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh...yeah. I think I'm a little overly-defensive of my hometown's page. Smashville 01:23, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Prosite Business Solutions

I fixed the text you labeled as blatant advertising on the Prosite Business Solutions page. I will readjust the text again if you see fit. Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pbspbt (talkcontribs) 17:08, August 20, 2007 (UTC).

The existence of the article itself and the gigantic company logo are both pretty unacceptable. Smashville 17:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why you think the new text is blatant advertising. It's completely different and its a history of the company, not advertising. I didn't even put up the logo. Please explain yourself. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pbspbt (talkcontribs) 18:57, August 23, 2007 (UTC).

I have no need to explain myself over an article for your company that was speedy deleted by admins 3 days ago. Smashville 21:07, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a Bio

I am adding a bio... I copied a template and making revisions to it... perhaps you might be willing to help me.

Thanks

Dale Fletcher 20:17, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest writing everything to Word or something similar first - or even your user page. Virtually anytime you put up a blank page, it's going to get a speedy delete. Smashville 20:23, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Check the Wikicodia talk page

Please check the wikicodia talk page. I've sources for notability.

Submit it to Deletion Review if you believe that the AFD process was flawed. However, being ranked 1 millionth in something is hardly notable. Smashville 20:53, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Prairie Bayou

Thanks, I added a bit more today on his dam and did a brief article on his sire, Little Missouri. Handicapper 16:15, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As I said on my talk page: thanks for pointing this out - I should have gone through the revision history. Instead, I just assumed that, since the topic itself seemed vaguely redundant, it was the work of a single user who copy-pasted the copyvio material and wrote a brief leader. Thanks for your diligence. --Action Jackson IV 06:06, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Looks like it was just one user who also created a few related spam pages. Smashville 06:07, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thank you for tagging that article with a better speedy deletion tag. I was unaware the article was a copyright violation. Now we just have to wait for it to be deleted. Xtreme racer 06:34, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quite welcome! Smashville 06:39, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake

Sorry about adding a CSD tag to Craig David's Fourth Studio Album. The way the article was titled and first created it looked like it could be just a general "oh, this artist has had rumors of a new album" type of thing. But now the editor has added more info about it and it is clearly not a CSD. Thanks for resolving situation though. Have a good one! --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 04:17, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's all good...it could still potentially be an AfD nom...but there was enough info for it to at least not be a speedy. Smashville 04:18, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kensington Court Gardens - Google'able

The sources that I used for this article are documents available at the local Library in Kensington. This includes the census documents, scans of old newspapers and an article by a historian that was published on behalf of an estate agent. Any guidance you can provide would be much appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.192.0.10 (talk) 07:08, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania in Atlanta!

Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!

P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 07:37, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Divizia A 1990-91 and others like it

Yes, it seems like it's a series of something. I have not the slightest clue what it's a series of, though. If you know and would like to add that information, I'd certainly find it helpful. Otherwise, I hope you won't object to the use of the context template. It bugs me when I can't figure out what I'm looking at. That's not always a1, I suppose, but it's never a particularly good thing. Erechtheus 04:31, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's either German or some kind of European soccer...I recognize "UEFA" as a notable league...but all I know about soccer is you can't use your hands... Smashville 04:33, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I'll go ahead and throw the context template up there and see where that takes us. Erechtheus 04:34, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Habit (psychology)

Thanks for removing the speedy delete. That means I can go to bed. I've been working hard to check on uses of the word "habit" in 700 WP articles to confirm my intuition that "habituation" is not what people are looking for. I found VERY few cases where habituation was clearly what was sought. I even added an internal link or two to habituation for 1 or 2 articles. There were some cases that were arguable, so I left it the way it was if there was a link to habituation, added no link in some cases, and added a habit (psychology) link where I thought it worked. of course I ignored all the uses that were about individual cases of drug, gambling, or smoking habits or where the word was used in a botanical or crystallograohic sense. I also skipped all animal habits, because of the difficulty of figuring out in what sense, say, a horse was conscious. I did learn a bit about the older uses of the term habit over 2000 years or so. Stay tuned. DCDuring 07:04, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for throwing that warning on there, I hadn't really intended on saying anything, but you expressed my opinion well. It was certainly an interesting experience. I just wish you could have seen some of the stuff that they were writing in the articles they created. I'll never really understand why Wikipedia seems to be the playground for the bottom scrapings of the gene pool. Ah well. Happy editing! A category you might want to add yourself to

List of Sporting Venues by Attendance

I see you wanted to start a list of sporting venues by attendance. Let me know if you need any help because I am interested in this sort of thing. Are you also going to add closed/demolished stadiums or venues that have since reduced capacity to your list (for example, Hampden Park in Scotland)? I think there is some value in those venues as well. Also, would you want to add venues that were never built, such as Circus Maximus or even the proposed Deutsches Stadion? Thanks!
