Radio Scotland was an offshore pirate radio station broadcasting on 242 metres in the Medium Wave (AM), created by Tommy Shields in 1965. The station was located on board the former lightship Comet which was anchored at various locations off the Scottish coastline within international waters. During one of its many anchorages off the west coast of Scotland the station became known as Radio Scotland and Ireland.
