Andrew is the English form of a given name common in many countries. Other forms include 'Andreas', 'Andrés', 'André', and 'Andrea'. 'Andrew' is a common name in English-speaking countries including the UK and the United States. In the 1990s it was among the top-ten most popular names for baby boys.

Derivation

'Andrew' is derived from the Greek name Ανδρεας, or 'Andreas'. Ανδρεας comes from ανδρος (andros), ancient Greek for "strong, manly and courageous".
