As a candidate country of the European Union, Serbia (RS) is included in the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS). The three NUTS levels are:
- RS: Serbia
- RS1: Serbia - North
- RS2: Serbia - South
- RS21: Šumadija and Western Serbia
- RS22: Southern and Eastern Serbia
- RS23: Kosovo and Metohija
Below the NUTS levels, there are two LAU levels (LAU-1: municipalities; LAU-2: settlements).
