WrestleMania III was the third annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view event from the World Wrestling Federation. The event was held in the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan on March 29, 1987.

Rapid onset and short duration of action, similar to thiopentone, with which it competed.
It is particularly notable for being reported as setting an attendance record of 93,173, the largest North American indoor crowd to witness a live sporting event and largest paid crowd in the history of professional wrestling. It held the overall indoor attendance record until a visit by Pope John Paul II broke the record. The actual attendance of WrestleMania III was later revealed, by the event's promoter Zane Bresloff, as being 78,000 with 75,500 paid. Regardless, it is widely considered to be the pinnacle of the 1980's wrestling boom.
